10 Holiday Survial Tips
1. Plan, Plan, Plan. – Seriously. If you are traveling, plan ahead, if you are hosting, plan ahead, if you just have to buy gifts for your loved ones, plan ahead. I like to write down what needs to be accomplished for the holiday.
Procrastinations = Stress = Crazy Mommy + Holiday 10lbs = MORE STRESS
2. Shop Online. Avoid the holiday crowds. I love shopping online.
3. LAUGH - Make time for holiday fun. We have several things planned during the holidays that I know for sure we will have fun doing. Laughing is one of the best way to reduce stress, and the chances you are making memories are a lot greater if you are laughing.
4. Fight the holiday bulge and stress by making time for yourself. Schedule gym time and make sure you are eating a healthy diet. Both will help you handle Post Office woes, family fears, and toy-store terrors in a much more civilized manner.
5. If you have kids, head to the library early and rent those must see holiday movies, or books to get your children in the spirit. Nothing worse then when your little one has zero selection at the holiday books. This also may save you from reading the same book over and over and over and over….
6. Get your Holiday Cards out of the way so as not to worry about dealing with slow postal service. Tiny Prints Christmas Cards is a great way to get that done.
Tiny Prints provides stylish, modern and unique stationery from photo cards to personalized greeting cards to thank you cards and business cards. Offering exclusive designs from the nation’s top designers, easy card personalization, a powerful preview engine and top-notch customer service and paper quality, their designs have been lauded by numerous television networks, publications and celebrities. With Tiny Prints by your side the Holidays will be a cinch! They offer adorable Thanksgiving Cards, Christmas Cards, Hanukkah Cards, and even New Years Cards. All fully customizable and personalizable.
7. Avoid holiday party binging by eating before you leave for your events. That way you won’t feel the need to nosh on all those, “Moment on the lips, forever on the hips” goodies.
8. Take time to give back. Teach your children about the spirit of giving. Sign up for a mitten tree, toy drive, or if you can adopt a family in need. Your child will learn the pleasure of giving to those in need.
9. When it comes to sending gifts out for the holidays, make sure you get them out before December 15th. You will avoid long lines and hefty prices that way.
10. When all else fails, escape to a tropical retreat until the Holiday Madness is over. Just don’t forget to take me with you!!
I wrote this blog post while participating in the TwitterMoms and Tiny Prints blogging program, making me eligible to get a $75 Tiny Prints gift certificate! For more information on how you can participate, click here.

I think I must be the only person that doesn't stress about the holidays. I mean, there is lots to do but it doesn't really stress me out if it doesn't get done.
That said, I don't do holiday cards or travel so I'm sure that cuts down on the stress.
Good luck this season! Keep it happy!
This is great advice! I knew this holiday season was going to be insane, so I already bought gifts for EVERYONE! I did all my shopping online. :-)

Great tips, Emily. I especially support the online shopping one.
Nice to meet you at BCC! Your boy is adorable.
Wonderful advice, Emily! I'm so glad that you reminded me to get on the ball and get my Christmas cards ordered. I've got the picture & the discount code, but I haven't managed to get them done yet. Today is the day!
