Daily Vegas ~ Random Weekend Rumblings

Yesterday I got the sweetest card from my MIL/FIL for my birthday. I actually teared up reading it. Sometimes things come at the right moment, and this was one of them for sure!! So I thought I would share it with you. (BTW I am a sappy card lover, funny ones have their time and place, but the sappy ones will always be my favorite. Maybe it is because I wish I could write something like that...)

Especially for you Daughter in law:
You're everything special a daughter in law could be -
a wonderful wife,
a devoted mother,
and a remarkable woman...
You add so much to our family circle,
and any grandparent would feel lucky knowing
their grandchildren have
a mom like you.
For the love you share
and the joys you bring -
wishing you a very happy birthday.
(she wrote PS this card is exactly what I wanted to say. How cute is she!! Thanks Mom Ingrid and Dad Theron)

How sweet is she?? Granted I probably should have waited until my birthday to open it up, but I couldn't stop my fingers.

Squish is walking all over the place. His molars are still being monsters, and we are still waking in the middle of the night again, but he is doing well. He has his first swim lessons tomorrow! He loves the water so I am hoping it will be a good time for both of us.

We joined the YMCA this weekend. They had a huge special running, and allowed my SIL to stand in as the second adult for the family pass. Which was a better deal than buying it alone. They have a free daycare while we workout, and I am hoping Squish will love that too. (And not bite/bulldoze/or push any of the other little ones...)

I just found out I am being featured on Picket Fence Blogs right now! How fun is that! (Yes, I get excited about little things like that.) I know it is randomly picked, but it is still fun! Wanna give me some vote love just because?

Found another great reason why I like my SIL living with us. I am famous for putting something down somewhere I think it will be safe, and then not being able to remember for the life of me where it is. (If I see someone else put something down, I remember that 99% of the time, but not my own things...) Usually I will tell the Hubs, but he isn't much help in the remembering category. Well today I told my SIL, and I bet you anything she will remember if I ask her in a week or two. Just another among the many reasons why she is so awesome!

Squishy's playroom is almost put together, I am nervous to drill holes into my wall. It is the OCD in me I think, but I just have to keep remembering it is nothing a little plaster and paint can't fix. I am trying to think of fun, educational, wallet friendly ways to decorate the walls. I plan on having it be a playroom for a while, so I am not worried about it looking silly. Any suggestions??

T-minus 12 days until I see my family. I simply can not express how excited I am to go see them, and for them to see my walking, signing, and stealing Squishy. (Click the link if you missed the video... Daddy loved it!!)

Missing my Hubs more and more everyday. This deployment has been easier in some ways because SIL is here, but in other ways it has been really hard. I can't wait to see him in a few months.

Finally I got two more awards this weekend. So sweet. My Blogger Bestie Lolo from Crazy about My Baybah, and Kathy, from Artsy Canvas Girl (ACG's blog is a new blog to me, and she is so talented not to mention kind!! Seriously, take a look!!) both gave me different versions of the same award. The Versatile Blogger. Since I waited until the last minute to do my post tonight, and still have a million things to do, I am only going to give out the award to some great blogs, and skip the 7 things. I think I rambled enough about me tonight anyway!!
In no particular order:
Living on Cents and Love - She just got a blog life, and it looks great! I could an hour (and have) at a time on her blog!
Cori's Big Mouth - life with the cutest triplets! And she is got some serious funny to that big mouth of hers!
Clover and Violet - love their blog, makes me wish I could do half of what they do.
Fresh Mommy - such a beautiful family, and a fun Sunday feature.
Mandalyn and the Stinky Cheese - I just like her refreshing honesty, funny antics, and sweet little boy (who is a serious busy body)!
Mommy Made Green - she has such wonderful tips on why you should incorporate green living in your life. And on a budget too!!

Alrighty, I am off to eat and watch True Blood, but before I go, I will leave you with this little gem. (Yes, he is still falls asleep in the bouncer... sleep training and teething don't go together.)

until reading this post, I didn't know your husband was deployed. I can't imagine going through that, you are such a strong mother to do it without him :) Happy your weekend seemed to be a great one! Have a good Day!

Happy Early Birthday!!!

Squish looks like he is doing his "OHM...OHM" meditation in his picture ;) Have you thought about maybe spray painting some chalkboard paint on the wall, or board to make an artsy area for Squish? That would be inexpensive.

Thank you for my first blog award! You are the sweetest and most wonderful bloggy friend!

What a sweet card. It's obvious you are one of the lucky ones that has a great relationship with her MIL. That's so nice to see.

Love your blog and your little guy is such a sweetheart.

Vegas is one of my favorite places to visit (not a gambler) with my family. We try to visit every September for couple weeks and we always have a great time.

Stopping by and following you from MG Monday.
