Daily Vegas ~ Word(ish) Wednesday!

These were taken quite a bit ago, but things have been so busy I haven't had a chance to post! When my Dad was in town we took him to Wax Museum. It was a lot of fun. Squish was apparently on the verge of getting pretty sick, but he had a fun time running around.

Staring down Johnny Depp.

Singing with Elvis! He actually took the microphone away from the King!

Playing Liberace's piano!

Daily Vegas ~ Moments into Memories

Our house has had a lot of commotion lately.

  • The Hubs returned home after being deployed for 6 months.
  • My Mother came into visit from Minnesota.
  • My Aunt and Uncle also came to visit from Minnesota.
  • My Father-in-law came to visit from Indiana.
  • We have gone to the circus.
  • Squish started gymnastics classes.
  • We have gone on a train ride to see Santa.
  • We went to visit Santa again at the Bass Pro (if you didn't see that picture, it is a must see!)
And the Squish has been enjoying ever minute (save for Santa) of the added attention. He has had so many people to entertain, he has barely stopped.

Until last night. Last night we were all supposed to go out to dinner with my Father-in-law, but the way Squish was acting, I knew he wasn't going to be able to hang in for that. So we opted to stay home while my Hubs and Sister-in-law went with my Father-in-law.

And boy oh boy am I glad we did. Squish was just done.

IF you know my son at all, you know that to get him to sit still for more than 30 seconds is a feat and a half.

But last night the moment everyone left, and it was just Squish and Mama, he crawled up onto the couch, cuddled into me, and sat. FOR AN HOUR. Just chilling with Mama. We watched Olive the Other Reindeer. He laughed at it, and tried to share his bottle with me. It was one of those moments that are made into forever memories.

Sometimes a boy just needs his mama! And sometimes a mama just needs to know she is needed.

Oh, and if that wasn't cool enough, this morning it was the Hubs turn to get up with the Squishapillar. I must have been pretty darn tired, bc I didn't wake up again for 3 hours!!

(I have been fighting a cold for two weeks, and needed the sleep!) (A huge thanks to my Hubs for letting me sleep!)

But when I opened the bedroom door, my Squish saw me, threw his bottle down on the ground, pasted a huge grin on his face, and RAN into my waiting arms. Picture me melting, I seriously just about cried.

This little boy gets me every single time. I am so blessed to be his mama!

Daily Vegas ~ EPIC SANTA FAIL

Squish 100% did not like Santa one bit. He saw Santa earlier on the Santa Train, and didn't like him then, but he FLIPPED this time. I have never seen him have such a reaction to any person like this before. He was so NOT a fan.

(But I love the pictures!) (Don't worry I gave him extra hugs and kisses afterwards.)

He did however like the 4-Wheeler... and despite the fact that my Hubs would love to get him one, we will be waiting a bit longer!
(Don't know what happened with his eye in the picture...)

Words Wednesday ~ Daily Vegas ~ Happy 18 Months!!

Can you believe the Squishapillar is now 18 Months old!  Where does the time go?  I swear you blink for even just one minute, and they grow before your eyes.

Being Squishy's mother has been an absolute joy.  Exhausting, Fun, Amazing, Crazy, and so much more then I ever imagined it could be.

Squish is VERY outgoing.  He will pretty much go up to anyone. (Except apparently Santa) Currently he likes going up to people and shaking their hands.  He even grabbed one old lady's hand, pulled it to him, and kissed it!  No joke!  I think it made her year.  She was so excited.  (I don't know where he learned this, as we have not taught him this.)

He loves music, singing, dancing, and being super silly!  I love how when music is playing, even if he is doing something else, his foot will be tapping along.  His drumsticks and his guitar are his favorite toys.

(Air Guitar)

He talks pretty much non-stop.  A lot of it still is in Squishy-ese, but some of things he is saying,
Hi
Bye, BuhBye
I love you, or I you
See you later (eeooater)
Hey you
Hey Babe (I think it comes from me saying Hey Baby)
Hi Guy
Thank you (ankoo)
Here you go or There you go (we just figured out that was what he was saying)
Ball
Elmo (MelMo)
Meow
Roar
Vroom Vroom (moom moom)
Book(boo)
Mama, Mom  MMMOOOOOOMMMMMMM!
Bob or BobBob (aka Daddy)
Uh Oh
All Done
Down
Yay!
Horray (Ohyay)
Bottle (Baba)
More (Mo)

That is all I can think of right now - although I am sure it is more.  He is still using his signs, but really only does it when he wants to!

He loves his BobBob so much, and is happy to have him home.  He is pretty much attached to his hip!
He loves playing with his toys, and is really into music toys, and toys that have little people.

He gives kisses (puckered up and everything) and hugs (my favorite is when he is playing, and then runs over, hugs you, and goes back to playing).

He is now sleeping through the night goes to bed on his own (naps included)  We have officially retired the bouncer, and when you ask him if he wants to take a nap or go to bed, he will run to his room.  I am hoping this lasts quite awhile!

He is fiesty, stubborn, crazy, sweet, loving, caring, fun, smart, and my favorite little man!  I don't think I have smiled or laughed more in a day until I had my son.  Between him and the Hubs, I sure am one lucky lady!

Happy 18 Months Baby Boy!!

Wordless (ish) Wednesday ~ Daily Vegas

Squish and BobBob's Welcome Home picture.

We have made it a tradition to take one when he leave, and one when he is home.

That way Squish can always see how sad his Daddy was to leave him, and how happy he was to be home.

Happy Wednesday!

Daily Vegas ~ Daddy is HOME!

I can't believe I am still up, but I suppose it is the excitement of having the hubs home. He is currently SNORING loudly next to me - Ahhh! The sweet sound of a hubby home!

Squishy took a late nap, and managed to stay up way past his bedtime to wait for daddy. And boy oh boy, was the Hubs happy to see him! So much has changed in 6 months!

My favorite part was when Squish said "Hi there Bob Bob!" (He has never really called the Hubs Dada or Daddy. I am sure that will change now that he is talking more, but I know Daddy doesn't mind one bit! In fact he thinks it is cute!)

I can tell you Squish loved having his "Bob Bob" home. He has already shared several hugs and a couple sloppy kisses. Not to mention he had to show off some of his new tricks!

Tomorrow we are off to the circus. Hopefully the Hubs will be okay. I know - not the best timing, but it is for Squish so he is going to try.

Other than a few pre-written posts and the announcement of the Toddler Wonderland Winners (Tomorrow is the last day to enter!!), I am probably going to be absent for a few days, which I am sure you can understand!

So happy to have my family back together! Now I am going to attempt to fall asleep next to my sweet chainsawing hubby! Love that man!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

We celebrated Thanksgiving with family friends yesterday. They live out here half the year, and are more family then friends! (although they are great friends!) Their son has to work holidays so we usually celebrate early or late depending on the year. We had a great time.

Squishy walked into their home and with-in 1 minute had shoved a handful of cat food in his mouth (yes, my son ate cat food!) and flipped over the water bowl. He was everywhere. But it sure was fun.

My little man LOVED mashed potatoes. He couldn't get enough of them. I could barely get them from the spoon to his plate before he was shoveling them into his mouth.

Hope you are all enjoying your families and eating lots of yummy food. I have many things to be thankful for this year. But I didn't want to forget to say thank you to you - my readers. I love all the comments of support and encouragement from perfect strangers. You have all made my day in one way or another. So from the bottom of my heart - Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving!

And....
You better guard your mashed potatoes or someone Squishy may just come and steal them!!
