Daily Vegas ~ Pictures from our Trip Part 1

I had so much fun visiting my family back in Minnesota. It was really refreshing to be around so many people I love, and who love us. Our trip was loaded with activities. The day after we arrived, we headed over to the Minnesota State Fair! I was so excited, it was my first MN state fair. For years I have heard my family brag about all the food they ate on a stick, and all the fun things there were to see. Finally I got in on the fun! We didn't however expect it to be so chilly that day. Much of the day was in the mid 50s and very windy. But we made it work. And more importantly we had a lot of fun. Squish had his first taste of "fair food" enjoying a cheese curd, and a few bites of fresh ice cream from the Dairy Barn.

Heading in to enjoying the fair.

A picture in front of the Smokey the Bear ad wall.

My sister and I in front of the snake zoo. (taken especially for the Hubs who HATES snakes!)
We also had to take a picture in these fun tiaras. I couldn't resist putting on on Squish too!

I really wanted to see the Butter Sculptures. Each day they carve one of the princess's heads out of butter, and the last one they do is the queen. I had read about these, but it was fun to see it in action!

The fair is full of educational fun for kids. There are discovery hunts in many of the exhibits, and in the animal barn the little kids get a chance to milk a goat. I however, couldn't help but feel empathy for these goats as they waited for their turn to be milked...

Squishy's first time on a tractor - I can't wait till he is older and really enjoys playing with all the farm equipment and fun things they had set up for kids of all ages to enjoy!

My mother, Squish, and Me with the Ocean Spray guy. Did you know it takes over 4400 cranberries to make one bottle of juice?? Crazy!!

Leaving the State fair - it was a great day. Even if it was chilly. We had a lot of fun, and walked a ton. We left with Happy Bellies, tired feet, and wind blown hair. The Chair ride didn't open until we were leaving, but there is always next time!

Squish looks like such a big boy here. He loved playing with his cousins, and chatting it up with his Aunt and Godmother.

"Aunt Amanda let's me be silly, don't even think about trying to share my fruit salad mom!!"

We were all gathered together that day to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. She is such an amazing person. I am lucky to have her as my mother. This was a super fun birthday celebration. I was so happy to be there for it this year!

Haha - This will be Squishy soon enough - who do you think was most excited about this cake?!

Can you believe this was just the first two days of our trip. We still had yet to go to the Mall of America, Como Zoo, and Monarch Festival!!

Hi There!

Sounds like you had a great time at the fair! I too live across the country (in Canada) from my family so I can appreciate how tough it is to be away from home.

I'm visiting from Where's the Love Friday. Have a great weekend!

Your little guy is so precious! Looks like you had a great time. You also look so comfy with him in your wrap. I have never been a baby-wearer, but you might have me convinced!
