Heading Home!!!!
So we are finally heading home tomorrow. Yes, I say finally. While I loved hanging out with my Dad, and loved watching Kellan enjoy all this attention he is getting, after almost 3 weeks, I am ready to get back to our daily routine. I have so much that needs to be addressed in the house, and accomplished when we get home.
I need to first and foremost, pay bills (yuck!), take Kellan's 7 month pictures, clean the house for my Mom's arrival in a couple of weeks, and organize the guest room. I am slightly embarassed to say in its current state it still doesn't have a shower curtain! (I was going to do it for the In-laws visit (Hi Farmor Ingrid, Grandpa Theron, and Aunt Kim!), but they were not able to come :( and so I just didn't do it!) I also get to upload and organize all the pictures we have taken here in Florida, and I am looking forward to no longer having blog entires with out a recent picture to go with them. There are so many great shots!
Not to mention I am sure I have a ton of packages waiting for us, as I ordered a ton of things from Amazon the other day including Kellan's highchair and play-yard! The highchair was a must as we are going to start Kellan on solid foods when we get home! (I need to insert a side comment here on how lucky I feel and excited I am to have made it exclusively breastfeeding for over 7 months, especially with the rough rough beginning we had!) Don't you worry, I will post pictures after he gets his first ever taste of real food!
This also means I get to start the fun and exciting process of making all of Kellan's baby food. We are going to start with Avocados, then bananas, then sweet potatoes, then oatmeal. Should be fun! I am going to take lots of pictures, and I will also be sure to get that first feeding on video for Rob. He is missing Kellan so much, but I know this is one of the things he is most upset to miss. :( So we will make due, and do the next best thing, which is videotape! (thank goodness for technology!!) I did tell him that I am sure Kellan will save a mouth full of food - raspberry, thus sending food all over your face - moment, just for him. I have no doubt this will happen to me and Rob over the months Kellan is eating food, he is a perfect combination of Rob and Me which leads me to believe we are SO in for it!
While I am mostly making Kellan's food because it is easy to do, more economical, and better for his body as I can control exactly what goes into his mouth, I am selfishly looking forward to making these foods to as a secret weapon in my battle to lose this left over baby bulge. I figured while I am making food for Kellan, I will be sure to add the extra veggies and fruits to my diet (in a non-puree form of course!). And more veggies = more filling = less snacking. At least that is the plan. The rest of my battle with the baby bulge plan includes joining Weight Watchers, and starting Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred. Wish me luck!
And so, while I usually wish I could just snap my fingers and have all these chores done, I am actually looking forward to going home and tending to our house. (Crazy I know...) I am secretly hoping Kellan will go back to sleeping better too once we are back home. (Again, crazy I know...)
