Post-its Galore!

So sorry for missing last Tuesday.  Life has truely been crazy here.  We are deserately trying to squeeze every drop of family time out before June comes. (Yes you read that right, Rob will be leaving sometime after Kellan's b-day)  Not to mention trying to get done everything we need to do before he leaves to the house, and ourselves.  Rob is rushing around doing appointments for the VA, I need to get my teeth fixed (shuttering at the very thought of the dentist!!) And our backyard is hopefully going to be fully landscaped by June 4 (nervously laughing) for Kellan's b-day party.  Currently it looks like this:

Ok - so that isn't our backyard - but you get the general idea!  So basically I could use an extra 24 hours in the day to get done everything that we need to do.  And once June does come, I hope to be able to update the blog more often, but mobile baby (who often doesn't nap) + having my hubby home = very limited time for me to get everything done.  I do what I can.  And today I come bearing not 1 post its, but 12!  Yes 12!  Woot Woot!  Enjoy!

(I was blessed to know of Elijah's story because I frequent a baby messaging board.  Her first child, a beautiful baby girl, was born I believe the same day as Kellan.  I have followed her story from the beginning, and I truely believe it helped me to be a better mother.  I pray their family has peace in these tough next days, weeks, and always.)

Until Next time!!

Days like today...

What a BEAUTIFUL day for such a wonderful event!! Although I woke up a little bleary eyed, having not gotten home until 1am then night before.

(WHAT? It was my first Girl's Night Out since Squish was born, AND it was a Sugarland concert - can you say FUN!!) But I digress...

What event could I possibly be talking about? Well, if all the fund-raising posts I have done, and the link above this entry aren't clues enough - it was the March of Dimes walk for Babies of course.

Our playgroup managed to get 10 of us together, and at last count we raised $894.00!!!

All of us Mommies and 1 Daddy!!

We even had wonderful sponsors who made our tee-shirts! Our fellow playgroup Mommy and her hubby own a diaper service here in town (That I use and LOVE LOVE LOVE).

They were kind enough to design our shirts for us, and make a generous donation to such a great cause! (www.happibunz.com)

All in all the 3 mile walk was spent chatting with other mommies (Squish took the time to snooze), and enjoy the outdoors.

We walked to raise awareness for our friend's daughter who has Prader-Willi. (check out her blog!) And also to help raise money for all the babies who need extra help and love.

Desi and her (sleeping beauty) daughter Mackenzie!

It seemed fitting today that we walked, as an amazing lady whose story I have been following was induced today. Her little boy may only live minutes, hours, or days. (Update: He lived for 12 beautiful hours, and was loved ever minute of it.)

The strength this woman, and other women like her have truly amaze, and inspire me.
(http://www.embracingelijah.com). I continue to hold her and her family in my thoughts and prayers.

I am SO grateful to have found such a wonderful group of mommies, and a beautiful group of babies.

Days like today help to remind me how truly blessed I am, and how thankful I am to have everything I do.

Nothing like a little fresh air, friends, and fund-raising to start the day off right!

Squish after he just woke up! He is getting SO big!!

My friend Lolo and Me (and our super cute boys too!)

Finished!

10 Months+Crawling Kellan=Busy Household!

Ahhh!  10 months has brought all kinds of busy to our house.  It has been harder to find free time to get on and blog about my sweet Squish, but we are certainly enjoying playing all over our house!  Kellan is now off of his belly and crawling around everywhere!  He is getting faster by the minute.  He also loves to bear walk, but hasn't managed to do more then a couple steps in a row with that yet.  He is ever so close to figuring out how to pull himself up to standing, so far all he does is get on one foot and one knee (proposal style) and pull on whatever is closest.  He hasn't managed to do more, but I know I am going to walk in and find him standing in his crib any day now!  So life is full of trying to keep the little man entertained, going to playgroups, and trying to fit quality family time in while Rob is home.  I can't believe in 2 more months my little Squishapillar is going to be 1 year old!!

Things Kellan is doing at 10 months:

Kellan is now crawling - everywhere - fast!  He has such determination to get to the places he knows he isn't supposed to be.  We are enjoying chasing him everywhere.

He is also bear-walking, and pulling himself to his knees, and a little beyond.

We are finally doing some really babbling.  Kellan is loving Ba-Ba-Ba, and Bobbobbob.  He is very close to doing Mama, and Dada we have heard both a couple of times.  We swear he is even saying Rob!

Kellan has 8 teeth now.  4 top and 4 bottom.  Although judging by the amount of drool, I am thinking there are probably some more on their way!!

Kellan is finally eating like a champ, although he is still very stubborn (wonder where he gets that from...).  At his 10 month well check, Kellan weighed in at 22lbs 3ozs!  And 29 inches, although I am pretty sure they measured wrong and think he is closer to 30-31 inches...  (Otherwise he has only grown an inch in 4 months, and trust me his pants say otherwise!)

As far as foods go, Kellan LOVES yogurt.  And he will eat anything mixed with yogurt.  (This is how I have been making sure he is eating his green veggies.)  He will eat pureed fruits and vegetables when he feels like it, but he is also really starting to prefer table food/finger foods.  (Today he ate a whole strawberry - completely distroyed it, and loved it!)  He also loves whole wheat waffles, freeze-dried fruit chips, cheese, cream cheese on a bagel thin, and sometimes he will eat veggies this way if he is in the mood!  Tofu, beans, and grains are also being tried, but he isn't sure how he likes them yet.

Kellan is also waving Hi, giving air kisses, signing all-done (all the time), and even gives hugs now.

We are so blessed to have such a wonderful baby!  He makes me smile all the time.  I am loving watching him grow and learn, and can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.
